Cause
Nembol does assign variant images on eBay. When you publish, it sends the image you set on each variant, within eBay’s limit of 12 photos per listing.
Photos do not change per variant when one of these is true:
- No variant image is set in Nembol. If the product only has gallery photos, there is nothing to attach to a variant.
- The option the buyer picks is not the one eBay groups photos by. eBay ties photos to a single option axis, usually Colour. Every variant sharing that value shares the same photo, so choosing a different Size will not change the picture. This is an eBay rule, not a Nembol limitation.
- The change never reached eBay. Edits only travel to a channel when Push updates to channels is enabled for it, and listings that are already live pick the change up on their next update.
Solution
Assign the images in Nembol and let it publish them:
- Open the Products tab, click the product, then click Edit.
- Scroll to the Variants section, select a variant, and upload its photo with the + button. Repeat for each variant.
- Check that Push updates to channels is enabled for eBay under Common settings.
- For listings already on eBay, use Retry or Update in the Products tab to re-send them.

Please note: Nembol picks the best grouping axis for you and respects each channel's per-variant photo limit, so there is nothing to configure. You can also choose the option axis manually if you prefer.
Setting variant images directly on eBay
You do not need to do this — Nembol publishes the variant photos for you. It is here for the cases where you would rather set them in eBay’s own interface.
- Access your eBay store.
- Go to the revise page for the active listings.
- Then click on the Edit button, next to the product.
- Click on edit in the variation section.
5. Click on edit again next to the “Attributes and options” you’ve selected.
6. Select all variations and proceed > scroll down to add variation photos.
7. Now add images per variants.
8. Don’t forget to save!
